What is The Amazing Raise?
The Amazing Raise 2011 is a unique, and yes, amazing, online giving event that provides the opportunity for the Greater Richmond region to come together and raise as much money as possible for local nonprofits (more than 350) in 36 hours – starting at 6 am on October 5 through 6 pm on October 6.
Thanks to the Community Foundation’s support, there have been numerous “contests” created throughout the 36 hours, offering every nonprofit (large or small) an opportunity to “win” additional funds……but first, here is what we need to do:
Beginning at 6am Wednesday, donations can be given through http://www.Sportable.org or http://www.GiveRichmond.org and paid by credit card. Only credit card payments through either link will count toward winning.
To give everyone a chance to get the word around, let’s focus on “Prime Time”, Wednesday, October 5 from 8-10pm. The nonprofit with the most $25 donations, wins an additional $1000!
This is a “raise” we can all get behind. So come home from work, after dinner, homework, and bedtime stories…..make a quick donation of $25** (between 8-10pm) then sit back, put your feet up and grab your book or remote. Great way to finish the hump day!
Please forward this information to those on your email list or address book. Also post your own call to action on your own Facebook, office email bulletin, or any other creative communiqué. The Amazing Raise can help Sportable and is an inexpensive way to show your support.
